Dexter Roberts found himself in danger of going home after falling in the bottom two with M.K. on 'American Idol.'

With a tear in his eye, Dexter moved into the Top 9, while M.K. sang for life.  The judges didn't use their only save of the season, sending M.K. packing.

The night wasn't all bad for Dexter, who received a shout out from Florida Georgia Line. Tyler and Hubbard wished Dexter good luck in a video message after his performance of 'Cruise.'

Hunter Hayes also sent a message to CJ Harris, who performed 'Invisible.'  Hayes was 'so touched' CJ chose his song that is 'so special to me.' Hayes ended by wishing CJ good luck saying 'maybe we could jam together sometime.'  So if CJ doesn't win Idol, he's at least won the appreciation of Hunter Hayes.

Watch a recap of last night's highlights. Ryan Seacrest delivers the news at the 2.18 mark.

The American Idol Top 9 return next Wednesday on Fox at 8pm.
