When it comes to TV news magazine shows, there's "60 Minutes" on CBS, and there's everyone else. On this day in 1968, 60 Minutes debuted on CBS TV, and 45 years later it's still on. I try to catch it each week. And, because the show is so popular, you often hear the CBS Sports football announcer say when that 4 o'clock game is running late, "60 Minutes will be seen in its entirety at the end of the game".

What makes 60 Minutes interesting is the focus on a wide variety of topics and famous people; often country artists. Here's a vintage video portion of a hard-hitting, typical no-holds-barred 60 Minutes interview with Johnny Cash, by former  show co-host Harry Reasoner.
