Not really, but it could be one of the 550,000 that are being recalled due to a defect in the power cord that causes fires to break out.

The report comes from TheHeartySoul.com who reports that several dishwasher models manufactured between September 2012 and January 2015 have a safety issue with the power cord that causes it to be a fire risk.

Five house fires have been reported to date because of the defect.

The important thing to do is check your dishwasher make, model and serial number to see if it is one of the defective models.

You can find this information either inside the door near the top, or on the side panel of the unit.

Your model number is the 10 digit string of letters and numbers and the following two digits.

Your serial number is the 4 digit string of numbers following “FD."

Your production code number is the 5 digit string of numbers adjacent to your serial number.

The brands of dishwasher being recalled are Bosch, Thermador, Gaggenau, Jenn-Air and Kenmore.

You can view a list of affected model and serial numbers at TheHeartySoul.com.

If you have one of the defective models stop using it immediately and call the Safety Recall Hotline 1-888-965-5813.
