I had no idea Critz Farms had a brewery. "I hear that a lot," says head brewer Keith Lindner who brought in a few beers and hard cider for us to enjoy during the 'Breakfast Toast.'

Critz Farms is a family owned business that started in 1985 but the Brewing and Cider company is less than 2 years old. "All our beers and hard cider are made with home grown ingredients," says Lindner. "From cider apples, barley, and hops grown right here on our farm."

Craft Beer

We tried the Honey Blonde, a light but full of flavor beer. Then it was onto the Eleven IPA, a citrusy, piney India Pale Ale that packs a punch. Finally it was the Pig City Porter, for the dark beer lovers. It features flavors of chocolate, coffee and caramel and its oh so good.

If great local craft beer isn't enough, Critz Farm Brewery also offers hard cider made from pressed apples on a 1890s cider press before a six-month fermentation and aging process to produce rich, complex and mature flavors.

Hard Ciders

The Four Screw is a crisp and refreshing English pub style hard cider mixed with a touch of maple syrup.

Want a fruity flavor? Try the Blueberry Moon, a semi-sweet blend of hard cider and blueberry juices.

These are just two of 12 award winning hard cider flavors you can taste at Critz Farm Brewing & Cider Company.

You can now enjoy a beer or hard cider while picking apples, pumpkins, walking through the corn maze, petting animals or picking out your Christmas tree for the holidays. Sounds like my kind of farm to visit.

You can see all the craft beer and hard cider flavors available at CritzBrewandCider.com. Sample them all Monday through Friday 11-6 and Saturday and Sunday 10-6 at Critz Farms in Cazenovia.
