Utica Mayor Rob Palmieri announced Thursday that Val Bialas Ski Center will open up for skiing, snowboarding and sledding.

Val Bialas will open Thursday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., Friday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.

Lift tickets will be $10 per person, per day. Cash only.

Val Bialas offers 5 trails at different degrees of difficulty and separate sledding hill.

In addition to downhill skiing/snowboarding, there are over 7 miles of groomed cross country trails. There are varying degrees of difficulty to accommodate all levels of skiing ability.

This is great news for winter sports fans who don't want to drive two hours just to hit the slopes.

The hours of operation are for the weekend of 2/9/18 - 2/11/18 only and could change depending on the weather.

You can check on conditions and if the hill is open by calling Utica's Parks Department at (315) 738-0172.
