You have to wonder what some people are thinking. You may recall the story we featured of guys shooting at a Deer Decoy set up by the Department of Environmental Conservation. This story tops that.

Conservation officers, Steve Lakeman and Josh Jarecki along with Utica Police were called to Forest Hill Cemetery in Utica on "shots fired" report. Witnesses told authorities that a man had been shooting at geese and a red fox.

While they didn't find any dead geese, they did find the fox. Witnesses were also able to provide officers with a description of the suspects and the license plate number of their car. Obviously they were able to get an address through the DMV and went to the man's residence.

At least he was smart enough to confess. Charges include, "failure to possess a hunting license and illegal taking of protected wildlife."
