Unemployed, Single Dad Taking Job Search to the Street
A local unemployed, divorced, single dad is looking for work and he's taking it to the streets.
In a creative effort to stand out, Jack Pflanz is marching along Genesee Street, wearing a sandwich board, resumes in hand from 10am until 2pm today.
The Stanley Theater marquee will display a similar message to local companies and agencies.
Pflanz has been looking for work for almost a year and decided to take a pro-active approach. He has 20 years of combined experience in communications, media relations, event planning and fundraising within local, regional and national non-profit, for profit, government, technology and culinary enterprises.
"I've done all the things you're suppose to do when looking for a job. Resumes, cover letters, job fairs, interviews, but nothing has worked," says Pflanz.
Pflanz will be live tweeting during his march today using the #HireJack.
