
Tornado Touched Down in Verona New York June 17th
It was more than a severe thunderstorm that struck Verona New York, leaving destruction behind. After a survey of the area, The National Weather Service confirms an EF-1 tornado touched down in Verona, NY with winds near 100 MPH.

A STORM SURVEY TEAM HAS SPENT MUCH OF THE DAY IN THE VERONA, NY AREA. THE PRELIMINARY RESULTS, WHICH ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE, HAVE INDICATED THAT AN EF-1 TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN NEAR THE INTERSECTION OF ROUTE 31 AND ROUTE 365. TOP ESTIMATED WINDS WERE AROUND 100 MPH BUT THIS IS STILL SUBJECT TO CHANGE. EF-0 DAMAGE CONTINUED ALONG AN APPROXIMATELY 9 MILE PATH LENGTH INTO WESTMORELAND, NY. THE TIME OF THE TOUCHDOWN IN VERONA WAS AROUND 10:03 PM ON THE NIGHT OF TUESDAY JUNE 17TH, 2014.
Luckily no one was injured but cleanup continues.
