Tops Given Go Ahead to Start Closing Stores
Tops Friendly Markets has been given the go ahead to start closing stores.
A federal bankruptcy judge approved a request submitted in April to close under-performing stores. Tops filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in February, hoping to liquidate some of their operations.
Tops has 169 stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. There are several locations in central New York including Rome, Sherrill, Canastota, Cazenovia, Chittenango, Camden, Boonville and the Syracuse area.
There's been no official word on which Tops Friendly Markets will be closing.
