A Sweet New Spot Has Opened in Rome... and It's Already Creating a Buzz

If you've driven down West Dominick Street in Rome lately, you may have noticed a new name that's getting people talking... The Dirty Fizz Cafe.

What started as a small pop-up has grown into a permanent home thanks to the incredible support from the community.

After becoming so popular at events, the family behind Dirty Fizz knew it was time to open their own café, and now they're serving up breakfast, lunch, drinks, desserts, and plenty of smiles six days a week.

So... What's a Dirty Soda?

If you've never had one, you're not alone! Before the grand opening, I had heard about them but never tried one myself.

A dirty soda starts with your favorite soda and adds fun flavor combinations, sweet cream or cold foam, and sometimes even toppings like gummy bears, gummy sharks, or cotton candy. They're as fun to look at as they are to drink.

The menu is packed with creative choices, including favorites like the Sour Patch, Shark Bite, Cotton Candy, The Karen, along with Dirty Energy Drinks, specialty coffees, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and so many other delicious creations.

More Than Just Great Drinks

While the dirty sodas may be what first catches your attention, don't overlook the food.

Dirty Fizz serves homemade breakfast and lunch, along with weekly food and dessert specials. One item everyone keeps talking about is Mom Sherry's famous macaroni salad.

"We know once you try our food, you'll love it as much as we do! Sherry's mac salad is amazing."

And don't leave without trying one of Livy's Chocolate Chip Cookies.

A True Family Business

One of the best things about Dirty Fizz is that it's truly family-run.

Tammy works alongside her daughter Emily, Michel, and son Wyatt, and Amanda with her children, Liv and Lucas.

You can feel the family atmosphere the moment you walk through the door. Everyone genuinely wants you to enjoy your visit, whether you're staying awhile or grabbing something to go.

I Even Got to Make Dirty Sodas!

I had the chance to stop by during their Grand Opening, and they kept me busy!

I actually jumped behind the counter and helped make quite a few dirty sodas throughout the day.

It was so much fun seeing everyone's reactions as they tried these colorful drinks for the first time.

Even better, Dirty Fizz collected tips during their Grand Opening and donated them to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, raising $250.

That says a lot about the kind of people they are.

More Than a Café

Dirty Fizz isn't stopping with breakfast and lunch.

They also cater events, have event space available for private gatherings, and are planning lots of fun activities throughout the year.

Think cookie decorating while you sip your favorite drink, paint-and-sip nights, craft events for both kids and adults, and this fall, they'll even be introducing a Sunday Brunch Buffet.

They're also launching a loyalty program so regular customers can earn rewards and discounts.

Worth the Trip

Whether you're craving breakfast, lunch, homemade desserts, specialty coffee, fresh lemonade, or you're finally ready to find out what all the dirty soda excitement is about, Dirty Fizz Cafe is definitely worth checking out.

You can relax inside with friends or grab everything to go if you're on the run.

Be sure to follow their Facebook page for hours, weekly specials, upcoming events, and their latest drink creations.

I have a feeling this family-owned café is going to become a favorite stop for many people in Central New York.
