Well, it's a day after "Be Late For Something Day". How did you celebrate? Hopefully, you got the whole being late thing out of your system because today is a day to get out there and seize the day. Today is "Fight Procrastination Day".

Are you a procrastinator? I know I am, but not too bad. You know, I procrastinate about small things like dusting, cleaning out my car or waiting to last minute to make dinner. But, today, is a day we should tackle all the tasks that we have been putting off. Get out there and clean your car, mow the lawn, paint the house, organize the garage or haul out the junk from the basement. Today is the day to do it.

While doing research about procrastination, I came across this fact from PsychologyToday.com there are three types of procrastinators:

People procrastinate for different reasons. Dr. Ferrari identifies three basic types of procrastinators:

  • arousal types, or thrill-seekers, who wait to the last minute for the euphoric rush.
  • avoiders, who may be avoiding fear of failure or even fear of success, but in either case are very concerned with what others think of them; they would rather have others think they lack effort than ability.
  • decisional procrastinators, who cannot make a decision. Not making a decision absolves procrastinators of responsibility for the outcome of events."

I thought that information was pretty interesting. I would say that when it comes to finding a restaurant to go to for dinner, I'm the third type of procrastinator. If you want to read the full article about procastinators on Psychology Today's website, click here.

Are you procrastinating right not? Well, I have to admit, while I was writing this blog, I procrastinated a little bit and watched a video on procrastination. So, if you want to procrastinate for 3 minutes and 50 seconds longer, here is Ellen DeGeneres talking about her problem with procrastination. But, before you watch, let me leave you with this--"The best way to get something done is to begin." ~Author Unknown
