In addition to it being Labor Day today, there is another "holiday" worth mentioning. September 5 is a day to take it easy and not pay attention to the time. Why? Well, today is "Be Late For Something Day". Yup, so pull the batteries from the clocks and throw your wristwatch in a drawer because today you can be late for something.

Other than it's sponsored by The Procrastinators' Club of America, there not too much else about this "holiday". There's no special celebrations or activities or traditions that go along with it. So, I guess the only thing we can do to celebrate is to be late for something.

Now, I probably wouldn't use this excuse today if you are late for work. I'm not sure how the boss will take it. I'm guessing not very well. Because this is the first time I have heard about this day, I'm going to take things slow, being that it's my first year of celebration. So, maybe, this year, I'll be a little late getting my morning coffee, or something like that. I'm taking baby-steps.

For me, being on time is a very important quality to possess. So, it's very difficult for me to be late for anything. Therefor, I'm taking "Be Late For Something Day" slowly. I'll start with something small, like being late for my morning coffee, and as the years go on, I'll gradually increase my lateness to things. It's a work in progress. Thankfully, "Be Late For Something Day" is once a year. Being late is something I'm not good at. I go by the rule, "Early is on time, and on time is late."

Are you normally a late or early person? How are you going to celebrate "Be Late For Something Day"?
