Today is Limerick Day. Yes, a day to celebrate the form of poetry with a very distinct rhyming scheme. A limerick follows this pattern: AABBA. Meaning, the last words of lines one, two and five have to rhyme and the last words in lines three and four have to rhyme. So, to test out my poetry skills, I have decided to celebrate today by writing a limerick about Utica.

My try at a limerick--

UTICA

Utica is a city we know.

It definitely gets its fair share of snow.

In spite of all that,

We all love to chat.

So next time you're here say, "Hello."

Now, it's not as easy as it looks. We'd love to read some of your limericks about your town or city. Share them in the comments below.
