The film propelled the career of 16 year old Judy Garland and became a classic film in American culture. I can still remember sitting on the gymnasium floor as a kid in second grade at Miller School (now Martin Luther King, Jr. School) in Utica as we watched it for the first time.

A sad day for " Oz" Fans. One of the last "Munchkins" from "The Wizard of Oz" film, Karl Slover, died at age 93. My daughter Lauren is a big "Oz" fan and met Mr. Slover (as seen in the photo) this past June at Oz-Stravaganza in Chittenango. Notice the resemblance? (No, not Karl Slover and me, my daughter and me).
