Country music has always been a major supporter of our military with many Nashville stars traveling thousands of miles to perform for our troops around the world, sometimes in dangerous and hostile environments. On this Veterans Day, 2013, we salute those country stars who have served their nation in the armed forces.

Despite the increasing popularity of tattoos, particularly among young adults, the United States Army is proposing new rules regulating the wearing of body ink. The proposed changes which have yet to be formalized are designed to discourage prospective recruits from getting tattoos on certain parts of their body. What do the proposed regs say?

At Big Frog 104, we're proud to share news about our troops serving around the world. During the "Frog Days Of Summer". the Boilermaker Road Race, which takes place on Sunday, July 8th is making sure that our troops serving in Afghanistan are a part of the race.

We're always proud to salute our men and women serving in the military. Now there's an update about the 10th Mountain Division's homecoming, originally scheduled for tonight at Ft. Drum in Watertown.

It worked last year for Marine Kelsey DeSantis. She invited Justin Timberlake to be her date for the 2011 Military Ball and he accepted. So Airman Jamie Walden figured, "Why not, I'll ask Tim Tebow to be MY date". Jamie is a huge Tim Tebow fan so she recorded a video invitation and posted it on YouTube.

At Big Frog 104, we're always glad to promote the achievements of the young people in our area.  Congressman Richard Hanna has nominated a number of local students from the 24th Congressional District for further educational opportunities in service academies.

A ceremony took place yesterday in Utica, as area soldiers gathered to say goodbye before being deployed to Kuwait. We thank the men and woman in the military serving our country in this deployment and throughout the world.

Soldiers returning from Afghanistan are fighting airline fees.  The members of the US Army were charged $200 in extra bag fees on the final leg of their trip home to a base in Louisiana.  The soldiers were allowed to check 3 bags for free but had to pay the extra fee for the extra bag.  The men were so upset about the charges, they made a video and posted it on YouTube.  Hours after the video went
