It is very exciting that we have a native of Central New York competing in golf's most prestigious major, The Masters. Derek Bard is a graduate of New Hartford High School and currently attends The University of Virginia. If you want to follow every shot of Derek's tournament run you can do it virtually.

It was a challenging first round of the Masters today for all who participated. Rory McIlroy even said that he was surprised how challenging the pin locations were for Thursday. They big story though was the amazing putting of American Bill Haas.

If you're a fan of golf and/or the PGA today is one exciting day! It's the opening round of the Masters at Augusta National. Many of the PGA professionals participating in the tour's first major of the year took to Twitter in preparation for the big weekend!

Tiger Woods hasn't missed a Masters since his debut as an amateur in 1995. Because of a recent back procedure, Golf's number one will not compete in the tour's first Major tournament of the year.

This Winter has been brutal on us Central New Yorkers. Temperatures have been brutal and the snow has continued to fall. Here in Central New York, we're somewhat used to it. One state that is not accustomed to frigid temperatures and snowfall is Georgia. That also is true for Augusta National Golf Club.
