Last year we learned that Gander Mountain stores across the country would be closing their doors, including the location in New Hartford. Now a new owner is putting the stores back to work.
Gander Mountain is coming back. After declaring bankruptcy and closing all it's stores last year, Gander Mountain was acquired by Camping World Holdings, Inc. and they're reopening nearly 70 stores across the country.
New Hartford's Gander Mountain store is staying put according to the retail chain's new owner. Marcus Lemonis and Camping World have bought the chain with plans to keep a portion of the stores open.
Earlier this year we told you how Gander Mountain was filing for bankruptcy and closing many of it's stores nationwide. The process of closing the stores has now begun with a huge liquidation sale.
Since the news has broken that both Gander Mountain and Kmart in New Hartford will be closing their doors soon, we started thinking of what could replace them.
