Syracuse Dad With World’s Widest Tongue Could Soon Be A Millionaire [VIDEO]

Having the World's Widest Tongue gets you so much attention. Syracuse dad, Byron Schlenker is in the Guinness Book of World Records and it's leading to interesting offers, including a chance to become a millionaire.

Schlenker was contacted to be on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.' 'I had to go through an interview process and they asked me questions. I don't think I'm going to be a millionaire. I might be a hundrednaire,' he jokes.

Schlenker's tongue measured 8.3 cm at the time of his record, but it's now 8.6 cm 'from sticking it out so much, it stretches like any other muscle. It's actually the only muscle I'm working out.'

How does someone find out they have the widest tongue? Schlenker says he can thank his oldest daughter. 'She needed a book from the library about facts. So I picked up a 2012 Guinness Book of Records and it opened to the page with the World's Largest Tongue. When we got home, she measured my tongue and we sent it off to Guinness.'

The same daughter may steal dad's title. Her's is already over 7 millimeters.

'This record is made for a young, single man, so for a 46 year old man, I just have fun with it and use it to embarrass my family,' who Schlenker says is getting tired of it now.  Before leaving the house 'they ask me not to stick my tongue out,' Schlenker says.  But it's difficult since he's asked all the time. 'Sometimes people walk up and just say let me see it.'
