A pledge is going around the internet, encouraging everyone to recognize Friday as a National Day of mourning for the victims in the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting.  The website reads

In memory of the innocent children and adults killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, and in tribute to their families and the survivors, please join in observing this Friday, December 21, as a National Day of Mourning. Americans and other citizens will honor the memories of those lost by participating in a moment of silence scheduled for 9:30AM EST, at the request of the Governor of Connecticut, and by devoting time on this solemn and special day to reflecting in other personal ways such as prayer, flying the American flag at half-staff, and performing good deeds that help others in need.

Take the pledge by going to causes.com.
