Slow down if you have to travel on snow covered roads. Speeds have been reduced on a number of highways throughout New York state as the winter storm continues to hammer the east coast.

Speeds have been reduced to 45 mph on I-87 between Exit 24 in Albany and the NYC line, as well as I-287, I-95, the Garden State Parkway and the Berkshire Spur. The speed on the Gov. Mario M. Cuomo Bridge has been reduced to 35 mph. Similar speed advisories of 45 mph are currently being employed on State Parkways, Route 17, I-84 and I-684.

There's also a ban on all commercial vehicles on New York's entire I-84 corridor between the Pennsylvania and Connecticut state lines as well as bans for short, long tandem and empty tractor trailers.

Winter Storm Warning Through 7PM 2/2/2021

The Winter Storm Warning continues through 7PM for Otsego, Chenango, Madison and Southern Oneida counties.

Plan on slippery road conditions. Areas of blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. Heavy snow with snowfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour at times will continue across the area early this morning. The snow will gradually become lighter late this morning into this afternoon.
