Over time, for whatever reason, society has put standards on certain things for both men and women. Expectations differ from country to country, but here in America it has been decided that women MUST shave certain body parts in order to be considered "attractive." Is it really true that a woman can't find a reliable companion because she refuses to shave?

Rebecca Hayes is a Central New York native who had someone come up to her after Sunday's Boilermaker Road Race and tell her that if she wanted to attract the opposite sex, she should probably shave her legs. Well, she wasn't going to let that stop her from expressing her true feelings about it. On her Facebook page, she described the encounter.

Hayes says that a lot of women are embarrassed for men to see them with some hair on their body. She says, "I like to take quick showers and honestly I just hate shaving. I don't get embarrassed by much and I could care less if I have hairy legs, that's just what my body looks like. And if anyone has a problem with it, it's simple enough to find another person who respects that it's your own decision."

Is Rebecca a minority when it comes to this idea, or are there many other women like her? Are some woman just too nervous, or 'embarrassed' to make the decision not to shave?
