New York Students, Chaperones Safe After Notre Dame Tour Before Tragic Fire
The fire at Notre Dame Cathedral hit close to home as some New York students studying abroad had toured the facility earlier in the day.
29 students and 6 chaperones from Shen schools in the Capital region had toured the Notre Dame Cathedral before a fire broke out at the historic building. They were in Paris, France with the PEACE program and tweeted everyone was safe and with their host families.
So great to hear everyone from Shen is safe, and at this point no injuries due to the blaze have been reported. The centuries old cathedral burned for most of the day, Monday April 15th, causing the roof and a spire to collapse.
