The American Idol Top 7 took on 21st centruy songs.  Scotty McCreery opened the show with LeAnn Rimes' version of "Swingin."  For the first time, the judge didn't give him good reviews.  If his fan base wasn't so big already, I'd be concerned for his safety this week.  I don't think he'll go home, but I wouldn' t be surprised if he's in the bottom three this week.

Country girl Lauren Alaina closed the show with Sara Evans' "Born To Fly."  She didn't give the best performance of the night but I don't think she'll be going anywhere this week either.

The best performances of the night came from rocker James Durbin and Casey Abrams who sang Maroon 5 "Harder To Breath."  He did a great job on the song but the highlight came at the end, when he sang to judge Jennifer Lopez and leaned over to give her a kiss on the cheek.  Anyone who can kiss People magazine's most beautiful woman, besides her husband, deserves to stay for another week.  Steven Tyler enjoyed his performance, and kiss, so much he had to be censored, again.  But if you watched closely, you could read his lips to see how much he like it.

Although I'm not a fan of hard rock music, James Durbin should have closed the show.  He not only nailed his version of Muse's "Uprising," but he entered with a marching band of drummers.  The performance was the best both vocally and visually.

Season seven winner David Cook returns tonight, as one more is sent home.  You can catch all the action on FOX at 8 tonight or tune in tomorrow morning at 8:10 for your Idol update.

Jacob Lusk, Stefano Langone and Hailey Reinhart may be your bottom three tonight.  Although, as I said earlier, I wouldn't be surprised to see Scotty there either.  My guess is Jacob or Stefano will get the boot.  So who do you think is going home?
