Cue up Tim Mcgraw’s “Don’t Take The Girl.” An 84-year-old man was not about to let this sneaky fox get away after it attacked his wife.

A Wayne County health department official told Syracuse.com that the man strangled the fox to death after it attacked his wife and knocked her over in their Savannah driveway on July 1.

During the struggle, the man and his wife were both injured and treated in the emergency room, Veronica Lafave-Boughton, the Wayne County Department of Health Rabies Program director told Syracuse.com. She suspects the fox may have had rabies and said it was sent to the state Department of Health to be tested.

Believe it or not, this is not the only fox attack this month! A fox went after an Oswego County resident over the Fourth of July weekend. The resident is now undergoing rabies treatment and the fox is being tested for rabies, Judy Grant, Oswego County’s director of environmental health, told Syracuse.com.
