Should schools have a say in what parents pack their kids for lunch? One mother received a note for putting chocolate in her child's lunch.

A friend of the Australian mother of 8 shared the note on Facebook. "My friend (mother of 8 healthy children) received this today from her 3 year old’s kindy. I told her to put in two slices tomorrow and tell them to get lost."

The traffic light system categorizes foods and drinks according to their nutritional value. Green is the best, and red is bad, according to Kidspot.com.

What's bad is schools dictating what parents feed their children. Although I agree with healthy eating, I don't agree with anyone having a say in what parent's pack for lunch.

I can understand bringing in cupcakes or cake for the entire class not being allowed. Some kids might not be able to eat it or have allergies and it wouldn't be fair if the entire class couldn't enjoy the treats. But to have a say over what's each parent puts in their own child's lunch box is going a little far.
