When Richie McDonald left Lonestar in 2007 it seemed like the end of the road for a group that had collected numerous Top 10  hits including one, "Amazed" that went to number one on both the country and pop charts. Subsequently neither Richie McDonald's solo career nor Lonestar's attempts to continue without him proved successful.  So now on the eve of the 20th anniversary of the groups formation Richie and the group have announced they are reuniting. The group plans a new album and tour for 2012 with dates to be announced. As for reuniting Richie McDonald explains the rationale,

“Well, five years has come and gone since I left Lonestar. We've all tried other avenues and the fact remains that some things were just meant to be. With the Lonestar 20 year reunion approaching, Dean, Michael, Keech and I got together and have decided we have some unfinished business to take care of. I miss those crazy nights running around on stage making music with my band of brothers. Looking forward to a new chapter in the book of Lonestar and reliving some old memories and also making some new ones for the fans that have been loyal to us through thick and thin. See ya soon, God Bless, Richie.”

Let's hope they make a stop somewhere in Upstate New York so we can welcome them back. In the meantime enjoy this live performance of their classic hit "Amazed".
