Rattlesnake Roundup-Want a Bite?

Most towns are known for some annual festival, for Sweetwater, Texas it's the annual Rattlesnake Roundup.  The Jaycees  sponsor the annual event that brings visitors from around the world and some who aren't so high on the idea.

The project was originally conceived by a group of area farmers and ranchers as an attempt to rid the abundance of Rattlers that were plaguing them and their livestock.

Now it's an annual fundraiser that benefits several Sweetwater charities.  Click here for event details, that include  a rattlesnake parade, a snake charmer beauty pageant and cook off.  I get queasy just watching this video, there's nothing that makes me scream like a little girl more than any snake, let alone a rattler.
