Gourmet Guys to the Rescue is an amazing event that benefits the Rescue Mission in Utica. This year over 2 dozen professional and celebrity chefs got together to serve their dishes to everyone in attendance. This year for the Townsquare Media team, we went with dessert for the 2nd year in a row. We used Dallas Hanna's Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese Cake Pops.

The recipe was simple, but the flavor incredible. Out of all the desserts served, ours took 2nd place. You can enjoy this simple recipe at home. Any non-baker will look like a fine dining chef after making these sweet treats.

The first step is to take any brand of box cake mix, preferably a spice cake, or pumpkin flavored cake. Simply bake the cake, let it cool, and then crumble it into almost a powder. Once you do that, add half a container of Cream Cheese frosting to the powdered mixture. For 5-10 minutes put the mixture in the freezer. Once they're cooled roll the mixture into a ball, and dip in chocolate. Then simply put the lollipop stick into the cake pop. See all the details in the video above.

We didn't win first place, but we proudly took home second place. The most important thing was the Rescue Mission raised a good amount of money with the event and we were happy to be a part of it.
