Looking for some fun in Rome? On April 23rd, “Operation Sabotage Stanwix,” an interactive escape room puzzle game that allows players to travel back in time, returns to Fort Stanwix National Monument.

During this 30 minute game, players work through a series of puzzles to sabotage the efforts of Continental Soldiers and learn about Fort Stanwix. The program is free of charge, but requires a reservation due to limited space. You can call for more information at (315) 336-2090.

Although the puzzles are based in history, no special skill or knowledge is required. The game takes place in one single room of the fort and is not physically strenuous. The event will take place rain or shine.

Also taking place on the same day is a national park #InstaMeet. This event will help visitors highlight their favorite national parks through photography and social media. “Find Your Park” photo booths will be set up throughout the park for those who come out to take and share pictures.

For those unable to participate in the April event, “Operation Sabotage Stanwix” returns to the park again on July 16th and October 1st. Information on registering for future dates will be released from the Oneida County Tourism website.
