North Utica Hoopla Frozen Yogurt Closes
Just as ice cream season gets under way in central New York, Hoopla Frozen Yogurt closes. The North Utica location on Genesee Street has a sign on the door saying Hoopla has 'permanently' closed, according to the Utica Observer Dispatch. Don't worry. You can still get your Hoopla fix. The New Hartford store in the Orchard's plaza remains open.
Hoopla opened next to Moe's in 2013. Moe's CEO Paul Dmainco was even in town for the grand opening that drew large crowds.
The hullabaloo over Hoopla must have died down after the grand opening. The Hoopla closing isn't affecting Moe's, that remains open in North Utica.
Nicky Doodles closed their location on North Genesee street too. After shutting down for the season in 2017, a for sale sign went up about a month later.
