Look, slang has been a way of communications for ever. But it seems recently, some generations have completely reimagined everyday words.

At the top of the state’s search list is chud.

This is a term to describe a foolish, obnoxious, or generally unpleasant person online.

I'll admit, I needed to look that one up.

The second most searched word is Larping which has generally been used to mean live-action role-playing.

Not anymore. It apparently refers to someone faking a lifestyle or pretending to be someone they are not.

Not What We Thought They Meant

"Bird" is frequently searched by people trying to understand romantic relationship drama

"Chopped"—which has no connection to a salad—is being looked up for its use as a way to call someone unattractive.

Finally, "Unc" rounded out the top searches, giving older residents a rude awakening that the term is just short for an older guy.

Generations Of Slang

The 70's taught us that if you tried to look cool and failed you were just 'jive turkey'.

Apparently, everything in the 80's was 'rad' and most definitely 'tubular'.

The 90's showed us that we could be 'all that and a bag of chips'.

So yes, every generation has its own way of speaking in code.
