Mattel Won't Sell Rochester Native Barbie Doll

Mattel designed a doll for Rochester native and former U.S. soccer star Abby Wambach. Will you be able to buy this doll for your children? It appears that will be unlikely.

Syracuse.com reports the company answered a question about the doll being on sale to the general public on Twitter: "This was a one of a kind doll made for Abby and isn't available for purchase. We're sorry for any disappointment!"

Mattel unveiled the doll back in February in honor of Wambach. As you may not know, Wambach was born in Rochester New York and is best known for her success with the United States women's national soccer team. She's won two Olympic gold medals, and retired from the sport back in 2015.
