So it happened. Again. I locked the keys in the car...with it running. Thankfully YouTube is full of helpful ideas to solve the problem, but with so many videos which one should you use? This one.

First a little background. I'm not that simple that I just got out of the car and hit the lock button.

The thing is, I have to use my Dad's car to get to work some days and it's a little old. It's a 2006 Chevy Impala and for some reason the lock mechanism doesn't like to work how it should.

So as a result, I got out to run into the store on my way to work, left the car running with the keys in the ignition and thought nothing of it.

So when I discovered that the car decided to lock itself(because this particular car has a mind of its own), the first thing I did was call Triple A. While I was waiting for them(they said it would be 45 minutes) I decided to check YouTube.com for a possible solution.

That's when I found this video. And it worked!

The video is pretty straight forward, easy to understand, and the method won't damage your vehicle at all. Best of all it works in a matter of minutes.

Now I should note that you need to have the 'post' style locks on your doors for it to work, but if you do you're golden.

Now if you're ever in this predicament, remember this video because it could save you a ton of time and money.
