Lucky the Bull is back!

The iconic landmark that marked the corner of Routes 365 and 31 is returning. He's coming out of retirement to make an appearance at the Boonville Oneida County Fair.

Lucky was mooooved from the corner where he sat for over 5 decades after a debate over ownership n April 2018. His location has been kept secret ever since.

Monday, Lucky received a police escort. "From escorting F16 Pilots on Sunday, to escorting a giant bull on Monday, the Oneida Sheriff’s Office was honored to assist the Oneida County Farm Bureau and the Boonville-Oneida County Fair officials with an escort to Boonville for everyone to visit," the Sherriff's department shared on Facebook.

Lisa Pearson grew up around the corner from Lucky and is excited to see him return. "I would pass him on way to work and home everyday," she shared on Facebook. "He is missed by locals and my family and I will be there."

"I'll have to go to the fair now," said Maxine Sweatman.

The only question that remains is, will Lucky go back into hiding or will he return to the corner where he belongs and has sat since the 1960s?
