
Herkimer Woman Charged With Welfare Fraud
A Herkimer woman was arrested for welfare fraud following an investigation by the Herkimer County Sheriff's Office Welfare Fraud Unit.
Investigators say 34-year old Melissa Doolen allegedly received nearly three thousand dollars in child care assistance benefits she was not entitled to from October 2013 to July of last year.
Doolen was charged with welfare fraud, grand larceny and filing a false instrument for filing.
