New York's Attorney General and Utica City Police are partnering for a gun buyback program. The "no questions asked" program pays money on-site for every working or non-working gun returned.

The program will be held on October 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Utica Recreation Center parking lot off Elm Street. Working and non-working guns whether rifles, shotguns, handguns, assault weapons, and antique weapons are accepted. Here are the rates:

$25 non-working or antique firearms
$50 rifles and shotguns
$75 handguns
$100 assault weapons

Payments are made via a debit card. There's no limit to the number of guns that can be turned in, but all should be unloaded and placed in a plastic or paper bag or box. It's an amnesty program so no ID or firearm owners credentials are needed.
