Everyone has someone on their Christmas list that is nearly impossible to get a good gift. For me it was always my Grandfather.  Then a cousin showed me the way, my Grandfather loved to garden.  Now here come the Master Gardeners at Cornell Cooperative Extension with great gift tips for the gardener.

First is your gardener a man or a woman. Do you know a little about their gardening style? Next are they a hobbyist or do they grow all of their vegetables. A serious gardener will most likely have the tools necessary for their craft. Another question is your budget. With all of that in mind, there is a virtual goldmine of wonderful gifts out there.

Gardening gloves remain a practical annual gift and can be jazzed up with color choices. Kneepads in all shapes and sizes are always welcome for those who pay close attention to detail in their gardens. Some gardeners can be very fussy about their pruners, but usually a basic ergonomic one will always be appreciated, even as a back up to a favorite. A very practical gift is the foldable soft plastic bucket, which comes in all shapes and sizes. These can be found at your local box store or gardening supply center as well as online.

Garden "bling" or garden decor is to be found in gardening sculpture, hangings, stepping stones, birdhouses, wind chimes, artistic gardening stakes, to name a few. Favorite gifts for butterfly gardeners are milkweed pods that come ready to simply place in the ground.
