George Strait’s Last Stop on His Farewell Tour Sells Out in One Day
The final date of George Strait's farewell tour, called The Cowboy Rides Away Tour, is quickly approaching. Strait's last stop is at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas and tickets went fast.
The final show, set for June 7, sold out within hours of going on sale. More than 100,000 people are expected to attend the finale.
Ticketholders will definitely get their money's worth. Not only will Strait be performing his many No. 1 hits, he will be joined by some of the biggest stars in the genre. Jason Aldean, Kenny Chesney, Eric Church, Vince Gill, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride and Lee Ann Womack will also be performing three songs a piece.
"Wow. To see this response from the fans to our final show is humbling and exciting at the same time," Strait said in a press release. "This is going to be an incredible night and I feel very blessed this holiday knowing how many of you we'll get to see next year on our final tour."
Strait will be auctioning off front row tickets and meet-and-greet passes to all of his shows on the tour and proceeds from the auction will benefit The Jenifer Strait Foundation, which benefits children's charities.
