From a Lost Wedding Ring to a Fraud Investigation
What's worst than losing your wedding ring? How about being involved in a fraud investigation after losing nearly $2,000. WOW, I am never going to hear the end of this one! Admittedly, it's hard to deny the "fishiness" in this story. Lost wedding ring and missing money smell like a boys night at the club.
What started as a trip to the grocery store turned into a fraud investigation when my card was declined at the checkout line. Checking our online bank account, there were 5 withdrawals made on Sunday, May 26th within minutes of each other. This is where my alibi gets airtight. All 5 were in Houston, Texas.
It's not a sure thing yet, but it appears we'll get the money back...eventually. But what a hassle this turns into; filing a police report, which is why the cop car was in the driveway, and dealing with card companies and banks.
Then there's the unknown of "how did this happen?" I never lost my card, so how did the thief make all those withdrawals? Worst of all....Polly is never going to let me hear the end of it.
