This year at FrogFest 30 we will be playing cornhole to raise money for St. Jude.

Empire Cornhole is bringing the fun to FrogFest 30 June 9th, at the Utica/Rome Speedway and it's all for a good cause. Sign up to play in a cornhole tournament with a portion of the proceeds going to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Are you a pro? Are you a armature? Either way you could win some amazing prizes. We decided to share some tips on how to take your cornhole game to the next level with helpful tips from Thrillist:

1) Get Your Bag Flat

If you keep the bag bunched up in your hand, it will tumble all over itself as it makes its way to the board. That won't help you win. That's why you need to keep it flat:

The bag should be flat in your palm, with four fingers on the bottom on the bag and your thumb on top, and your palm should be flat and facing upwards when you throw it."

2) It's All About The Stance

They recommend two different stances:

1) Stand still and use all arm in your throw.

2) Use the bowling approach.

3) Aim For The Middle Of The Board

This may seem obvious, but there is some science behind it:

“Regardless of whether your bag is going in [the hole] or not, the key to the game is to consistently be down the middle of the board. That way if your bag ain’t in, you’re still in your opponent’s way.” This is called a “blocker shot” and it’s used as a defensive strategy in professional games, because it requires your opponent to nail a difficult shot over your bag, called an “airmail,” or to push your bag in with his."
