Mother Nature may cause problems in central New York today with possible flooding and windy conditions that could knock down power lines and trees.

Flash Flood Watch for Central New York is in affect until noon.

Rain will be heavy at times, through this morning. Widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 5 inches are expected.

Localized flash flooding is a major concern, especially along the Mohawk River At Little Falls. At 4 AM Monday, October 30th the stage was 10.2 feet. Flood stage is 15.0 feet.

The river is forecast to reach flood stage by 1 PM and forecast to continue to rise to near 16.6 feet around 8 PM.

A High Wind Warning is also in affect until 4 PM for Onondaga, Madison, Oneida, and Otsego Counties until 4 PM. Winds will be 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 50 to 60 mph.
