First-Ever Boilermaker Transfers Start Today

As you've probably heard, this year's Boilermaker 15k and 5k road races are filled up. Today, those who may not be able to run in the race and have already signed up have a chance to opt out.

Here are the details from our sister station, WIBX:

"If you’re one of the lucky ones who got an entry for the Boilermaker but you can’t run this year, you can now legally transfer your race number to someone else.

Beginning today for $10 you can register on active.com and try to opt-in or opt-out of the race.

It’s the first time in history this has been done. Race Director Jim Stasaitis says that the unprecedented early sellout of both the 5K and 15K this year created a situation where “many runners found themselves on the outside looking in.”
