The popularity of soccer is starting to entwine itself in golf.  Popular in Europe the past few years, the sport of Footgolf has arrived in Marcy, NY at Mini Falls Miniature Golf and Footgolf.  Watch as The Big Frog staff hits the links, or is it the field... or maybe it's the pitch.

You may recall Mini Falls at 9411 River Road in Marcy has been known for their miniature golf and pitch and putt facilities.  New owner, John Theall says the popularity of footgolf in Europe "brought it to the States around 2011 with courses in Florida and California."  As the sport moved its way up the east coast, he decided it was perfect for his pitch and putt facility.  His is one of only a handful of courses in New York.

...once they see the soccer balls, kids are running past our miniature golf to play.  They don't even care what it is, as long as soccer balls are involved.

In the video below, Polly, Dave Wheeler and myself took on the Mini Falls course to find out more.  Our conclusion, it's a "ton of fun" and a little more challenging that you may think.  Just like real golf, your shots can stray from their intended path, the ball will roll around the hole and not go in; but we didn't loose any balls.

Mini Falls is open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.   Call (315) 225-4513 or check them out on Face Book for more informatiom.
