Nick Foles and the Philadelphia Eagles outlasted the New England Patriots by a 41-33 final in Super Bowl 52 to capture the franchise's first Lombardi Trophy.

Foles took MVP honors at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis with an exceptional 373 yards passing, and three touchdown passes; Foles even caught a TD on a crucial fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line before halftime to give the Eagles a 22-12 lead. Foles was intercepted once on a nearly-caught-but-volleyed ball that was sent up into the air to be easily intercepted by New England. But it would be the Eagles' lone turnover of the game.

Not to be outdone on the game's biggest stage, Tom Brady threw for a staggering 505 yards and three touchdowns. Brady wasn't intercepted, but was the victim of a sack-fumble late in the fourth quarter that all but sealed the outcome.

The Pats' defense was able to hold Philly to a field goal to keep it a one score deficit.

And while Brady was able to move the offense to midfield to setup a Hail Mary attempt on the final play, one that New England receivers were close enough to possibly make a play on, TB12's pass was batted down by the Eagles' defense.

Of Note:

Both kickers were a little 'off'. Philly's Jake Elliot missed an extra point in the first quarter, while New Englands Stephen Gostkowski - one of game's most reliable - also missed an extra point. Prior to the missed PAT, Gostkowski was charged with a missed 26-yard field goal in the second quarter, but a mishandled snap clearly affected his rhythm resulting in a clank of the left upright.

The game had just one punt - Philly's first possession of the second quarter. And, there was just one sack - Brandon Graham's sack-fumble of Brady with just over two minutes remaining in regulation.

Zach Ertz's go-ahead touchdown catch in the fourth quarter will have people talking on Monday and into the off-season. Ultimately it was ruled that Ertz had gone from receiver to runner after making the catch and striding toward the end zone. As the big tight end leaped in for the score, the ball was jarred loose as he crashed to the ground. Here's the reply:
