Deb Shop in Sangertown Square Mall is closing. The store, which has been in business since 1932, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and plans to close all stores.

According to their press release:

'Store closing sales will begin on January 9th and will involve discounts of 30-50% on all Junior and Plus Size apparel, including tops, sweaters, jeans, pants, dresses, activewear, outwear, and lingerie. Store furniture, fixtures, and equipment will also be for sale. Store locations will remain open until all merchandise has been sold.'

There's no word on when the store in the mall will officially close but it'll be sometime between now and April. The good news is, they are having a HUGE going out of business sale, so you could find some great deals.

Radio Shack

Deb may not be the only store leaving the mall. Radio Shack is preparing to file for bankruptcy protection as early as next month according to the Wall Street Journal. The mall location has sale signs in their window, but no one would confirm or deny if they were closing too.

Wet Seal

Wet Seal has also filed for bankruptcy and announced it would close 338 stores, which included the mall location. They've already closed their doors. When I went to see when it would happen, I found an empty store front.

Macy's

Macy's has also announced the closing of 14 stores. Luckily it won't affect the anchor store in the mall. According to PlusModelMag.com, there are 2 New York locations closing it's doors: ShoppingTown Mall in DeWitt and Rotterdam Square in Schenectady.
