It appears Carrie Underwood is under scrutiny for her number one hit song "Something In The Water". Why? The subject matter of the song.

Country Music Nation is reporting that music industries, and some atheist groups, are not too happy about the song’s subject matter, "faith in Jesus Christ and a biblical view of being born again". It appears Carrie doesn't really care what these haters are saying:

“I’m not the first person to sing about God, Jesus, faith [or] any of that, and I won’t be the last. And it won’t be the last for me, either. If you don’t like it, change the channel. Something in the Water is so inspirational. It’s joyous! I can’t help but smile when I hear it. I hope it has the same effect on everyone who listens to it. It’s an uplifting song about changing your life and having that ‘aha moment’ to waking up and your life being different from that moment forward."

The following lyrics are what is causing controversy:

He said, “I’ve been where you’ve been before.

Down every hallway’s a slamming door.

No way out, no one to come and save me.

Wasting a life that the Good Lord gave me.

Then somebody said what I’m saying to you,

Opened my eyes and told me the truth.”

They said, “Just a little faith, it’ll all get better.”

So I followed that preacher man down to the river and now I’m changed

And now I’m stronger

There must’ve been something in the water

Oh, there must’ve been something in the water"

I'm pretty sure she will continue making great music, despite what people may think of her religious views.
