UPDATE: The boil water advisory in Rome has been lifted.

A boil water order remains in effect for the City of Rome. According to Mayor Jackie Izzo, despite an early detection of E. coli. in a water sample taken on Tuesday, the problem has been addressed, and should be resolved soon. Izzo says, "Following Oneida County and State Health Department protocols, the boil water order must stay in effect for another 24 hour sampling of the water supply. An update will be given [Friday] afternoon."

For any further information or questions concerning issues related to the boil water advisory, residents may contact the Oneida County Health Department at ocgov.net/health or by telephone at 798-5064.
