The upstate New York prison break that captured the nation's attention for weeks is getting the Hollywood treatment. Ben Stiller was spotted in Plattsburg this week after getting the green light to direct and produce "Escape at Dannemora."

Still stopped by the Government Center, City Hall and the Macdonough Monument in downtown Plattsburgh, according to Adirondack Daily Enterprise.

The more than three-week manhunt for escaped prisoners Richard Matt and David Sweat from Clinton Correctional Facility concluded in late June 2015 when both were shot. Matt was killed and Sweat was wounded.

Benicio del Toro will play Richard Matt, Paul Dano will portray David Sweat and Patricia Arquette is Joyce Mitchell, the woman who helped the men escape, according to IMDB.

Filming will begin later this year but the 8 hour series isn't expected to air until 2018 on Showtime.
