Be Aware of ‘Urgent’ Bank Message – It’s a Scam

A new bank scam is circulating in a new way; through text messages.

The New York State Police has received information on a possible scam involving personal banking. The message alert will appear as a text like it was sent from the bank. It comes as "Urgent" and provides a number for you to contact them back.

DO NOT give your personal banking account information by email or over the phone.
DO NOT give your personal banking credit/debit card information out by email or over the phone.
