With all the bad news happening it's nice to hear something that makes you feel better about the world. A 5 year-old Waterville girl took a cue from her older brother, using her birthday to help others.

On Tyler Evan's 10 birthday, he asked for cans and bottles instead of gifts to raise money for Spring Farm Cares Animal Sanctuary, raising over $300.00.

Tyler's little sister Paige decided for her 5th birthday, she wanted to be like her big brother and asked friends to bring gifts for pets. She received enough to fill 5 huge totes with toys, food and blankets.

Paige and her family delivered all the gifts to Whispering Pines Animal Shelter in Waterville.

It's nice to see people thinking of others, but even sweeter when it's children. It makes you believe in humanity and the next generation.
